Quality dentistry has been part of my family for three generations. My grandfather, Dr. James B. Carr, and my father, Dr. Jack D. Carr, were general dentists who were deeply committed to the dental profession and the welfare of their patients. As my grandfather set an extraordinary example for my father, my father’s exceptional standard of care and attention to the personal relationships with his patients had a great influence on my brothers and me, who followed in our father’s footsteps. I have practiced Family Dentistry in Carmel for the last forty years, and have truly enjoyed caring for the many patients I have treated.
As much as I value my profession, my practice, my patients and my devoted professional staff members, I now wish to explore other interests and engage in different activities. To that end, I recently made a decision to retire from the practice of dentistry.
My greatest consideration in this decision has been to find a dentist with the highest professional standards, who will treat my patients with the care I have provided throughout my career. After a thorough selection process, I am confident that I have found those qualities in Dr. David Wood. Dr. Wood's passion for dentistry and commitment to excellent patient care make him an ideal fit.
Dr. Wood is an Indianapolis native, growing up in Lawrence. He attended Wabash College, where he played Division III soccer and graduated with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. After college, Dr. Wood earned an accelerated Master’s Degree in Biology from Purdue University. He attended Indiana University School of Dentistry from 2010 to 2014. Since his graduation, Dr. Wood has practiced as a solo practitioner in Marion, Indiana. He provides a wide spectrum of care, including restorative, esthetic, endodontic and oral surgery procedures, as well as Invisalign orthodontics.
Dr. Wood is also enthusiastic about continuing education and stays current on the technological advancements that are reshaping the dental profession. He lives in Fishers with his wife, Rachel, their two children Leah and Graham, and German Shepherd Lexi. In his free time, he enjoys activities with his kids, watching IU basketball, and staying physically active.
Dr. Wood assumed my practice in June, and I have continued on a limited basis throughout the transition. My dedicated assistants, hygienists and administrative staff remained to help Dr. Wood provide the best of care to all of my patients.
It has been my great pleasure to serve the many patients I have known throughout these forty years, and I am confident that Dr. Wood will continue the high standard of care to which my patients have become accustomed. I could not be happier that Dr. Wood has chosen to assume my practice, and wish him the best. Please click on the link below to be directed to Dr. Wood’s website.
